6 months

Lucas was 6 months on the 12Th of this month. He definitely has his up and downs but for the most part he is very loving and one of the happiest babies. He lights up instantly at the sight of his older brother and pretty much anyone that catches his eye.



I took him in for his 6 month check up last week and I was surprised to find out that he has dropped down into the 11Th percentile for his weight. I felt bad and I thought that maybe it is due to something that I am doing. So I have increased the amount of solid food that he eats during the day, and he LOVES the food! He is such a little piggy:) He will eat one to two bowls of rice cereal or oatmeal mixed with fruit, twice to three times per day. Which to me seems like a lot, so hopefully that will help:) Well we will see.....

Catch Up

I don't feel like we have done anything too exciting these past couple of weeks but they have sure flown by. I can't believe it has been a month since I last blogged. The only thing we have really done is go up to the lake. We have been up there the last three out of four weekends. It felt so good the weather has been really nice and it was great not to have smoke anywhere in sight.

When we were up there this past weekend Mikey took Connor on the wake board. He has always really liked the water so initially he wasn't scared. After they got up he kind of got a little freaked out, then Mikey put him on his knee and he seemed to like that a little more. I wish we could have tried a few more times before we came home, just to see what he would do:)










Lucas is Six months old today and is growing up so fast. He has such a cute personality and he is one of the most ticklish babies I have seen. If you stick you nose under his chin and move your head around he will instantly crack up. He loves his jumper and I think he could jump around in it for most of the day. Sometimes I feel kind of bad that he is always in that thing, but he seems to really enjoy it, so I don't really want to ruin a good thing.

I went out on the boat one day and this is what I came back to, Tasha had put Bailey's swimsuit on Lucas to see if we would notice that it was him in it and not her.




These are some pictures of Mikey wake boarding. He is always so fun to watch and I am glad that we have been able to go up more this summer because the lake is one of his favorite places to be.

First Little Shiner

Connor was playing over at his Nana's house the other day and Chrissy and I had ran to Costco. This is what I returned to. His first little black eye. Connor and his cousins were playing outside and he got hit in the right spot. Nat and Tasha said that it instantly started to get black and blue. I am sure that there will be many more wounds to come:(





Here are a couple recent pictures of Lucas. He is 5 months old today. He has been teething for a while now and I am pretty sure that the two bottom teeth will pop through any day.



He is still a pretty mellow baby but he has had his bad days thats for sure. I know that some people that read my blog think that I make up how good Lucas has been as a baby. So I feel that when he does have a bad moment I need to share it with the world. So here goes, for the past couple of days he has been waking up around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, I usually let him whine for up to 30 minutes or so. If he doesn't go back to sleep with in that time period, I put him in his basket and get him to go back to sleep till 7 ish then I offer him his first feeding for the day.



So yes my child DOES cry, he sometimes doesn't sleep his usual 11 hours every night. I DO apologize if at any time people think that I am not telling the truth on this thing. I am sorry if some things may seem hard for you to believe, but I don't know what to tell you. I guess my thing is that I would rather dwell on the good things in life than the bad.

Love Hate Relationship

Carly and Connor have a special relationship, they remind me a lot of Danielle and I growing up. I can remember Danielle begging me to let her kiss me. I hated it! She thought I was her little toy that she could hug and kiss all the time. Carly is exactly the same way with Connor. She loves him so much, I don't think that Connor realizes that all she just wants is for him to kiss her back. It is funny because he always talks about her when she isn't around. But the minute that he sees her coming he usually runs away, I think that he just expects her to smother him. She is very protective and doesn't let anyone mess with him. Last week we attended a Chamber mixer and Carly and Connor were jumping in the bounce house. I overheard her telling everyone "stop jumping!" She proceeded to tell them that "they need to be careful around Connor because he is still a baby and she doesn't want him to get hurt!" I know that I will never have to worry about him getting pushed around when he is older as long as Carly has anything to say about it:)

Look-A-Like

I wasn't exactly sure who Lucas looked like until I took these pictures last night.

I just bought a mobile for Lucas' crib and Connor loves laying in their with him watching it go around and around. It is really sweet to see them interact with each other. When Connor talks to Lucas he lights up and is easily entertained.

Redding

This past weekend we took a trip over to Redding. Whitney, Mikey and I took the kids over on Friday afternoon. Nat, Casey, Jared, and Teegs came over later that night. On Saturday the boys took their bikes to ride on a track near Sacramento and then they went to a motorcross race later that day. The girls stayed in Redding and took the kids to the waterslides. The weather was perfect and the waterslides were fun. Everytime I leave Redding I am convinced I need to there move. I love the weather, the people, and all of the activities that the city has to offer. I think that it would be nice place to live since it isn't too far from home and it seems like there is always someone going over there for something. Maybe some day... After I finish school?

Pool Party

Connor turned 2 this past weekend and we had his birthday party up at my parents house in Salyer. The weather was perfect and the party was pretty mellow and laid back.

I know that everyone always says that time flies by, and that they can't believe that their children are as old as they are. But for me it seems like I have had Connor my whole life. I know that the two years have gone by extremely fast, but looking back we have done so much and our lives have changed in so many ways since we had him 2 years ago.

Pretty much the only kid's activity that we had at the birthday other than swimming and the slip n slide was the pinata. The older kids were definitely more successful at it than the little ones.

This is the motorcycle cake that Vickie made for Connor. I attempted to make it and then she had to step in a fix most of it, This is the finished product, much better than I could have ever done!


"Tay Tay" is every kid's favorite person. She is always such a great help and truly loves most if not all children. I know that I speak for a lot of people when I say that she is the best babysitter and I don't think she should ever move away, at least not too far:)
